Mc Call was born in Whitmire, SC on February 9, 1927 a son of the late William Harvey Mc Call, Sr. He attended the University of South Carolina and did further post-secondary studies at other colleges. Mc Call was a veteran of the US Army having served during World War II and was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.
He retired from Cone Mill Carlisle Finishing Plant. Mc Call loved and admired artwork and enjoyed painting.
Robert Lee Svedlund, age 78 of 210 Hillcrest Dr., Union, widower of Carolyn Svedlund, passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at his home. Svedlund was born in Paxton, IL, June 18, 1937, a son of the late Oscar Wilhelm Svedlund and Mary Johanna Jensen Svedlund. He was a member and had served as Chaplain of the VFW Post 3122 and a member and Chaplain of Torrington Retirees Group. Lewis was a founding member of the Monarch Fire Department where he had served as Assistant Fire Chief and EMT with Gregory and Johnson Ambulance Service. Truett was predeceased by his beloved wife “Elly” who passed away at their home on November 18, 1993. Bird Ivey and wife Donna; three grandchildren, Ivey Gregory, Gregg Gregory, and Nan Gregory; and a special niece, Emily Ivey. She was a graduate of the University of South Carolina, Union, receiving an Associate Degree in Art Studies. Shetley worked alongside her husband at Allstate Insurance Agency for many years.
